Tyres for your Blackbird |
Without
a doubt over recent years the greatest revelation for most riders in respect
of tyre choice for Hondas Superblackbird was the introduction of the BT-020
and even now in 2007, it is still one of the top choices, however,
theres a new Bridgestone now available as a fitment for the Blackbird,
the BT021 |
| 16/5/07
- After e-mailing Gary Hartshorne of Bridgestone, regarding the BT021 as
a suitable fitment for Hondas Superblackbird and clarification regarding
withdrawl of the BT020, he wrote: "Thank you for your mail. The BT-020 will not be withdrawn for at least 2 years, and in some cases where the tyre is OE, it will continue for as long as the bike is available. The BT-021 is approved for the Blackbird and early reports are that it works exceedingly well. Stability is an improvement over the BT-020 and durability should also be improved as the rear is now "dual compound." Initial testing tells us this but we need real world feedback. So if your members do fit the 'BT-021' then the feedback from you would be good. I went on the launch, which was held in Sardinia and the weather was dreadful. However, for a sports touring tyre test it couldn't have been better as we had snow, hail, rain and dry and I must say the tyres performed excellently on all of the bikes I rode. Have a look in the press for the reports. The steering was very neutral and on those roads they tended not to follow the white lines and felt really good. I trust this answers your question" We are currently running several threads in respect of tyre choice in our Consumables section please Click Here to view this forum Or if you wish to view more information regarding the tyre on the Bridgestone site, then please Click Here |

Hi
