Economical
front stand |
Here's
an idea of how to construct a front stand for your Bird on a budget, recently

Put bike on centre stand. Take a 1.3 to 1.4cm (1.4 is best) diameter pole or bar. Cut it 98.9 cms long. Bend the top 4 cms at about 5 degrees or, if lazy, chop the top at a slight angle so it will sit roughly square in the recess Insert one pole in the recess, but to the rear of the handlebar wiring, and turn the steering to the left, while gently preventing the bike from rotating on the centre stand. Hold the steering and insert the other pole in the recess but between the handlebar wiring and the fork leg. Turning the steering either way will lift a pole enough to adjust it's position on the ground. Turn the steering central and the front wheel is off the ground. A pair of ski poles chopped at the 1.35 -1.4 cm taper is the really smart ticket. Adjustable
length ski poles will not take the weight.
